The education infrastructure is solid. SVNIT (#59 Engineering, NIRF 2024) and the newly established IIIT Surat (2017) produce AI and computer science talent. IIIT Surat's placements reached Rs 64 LPA highest and Rs 12.92 LPA average in 2024. Combined with VNSGU's 45,000+ students, the city has a growing tech talent pipeline.

AI applications in Surat extend beyond diamonds. Sarine's AI grading laboratory (opened January 2024) uses machine learning for automated diamond assessment. The textile industry (India's largest synthetic fabric producer) is adopting AI for quality control and supply chain optimization. The DREAM City project (681 hectares) is creating integrated infrastructure for tech, research, and residential use.

The entrepreneurial DNA is Surat's biggest asset. The city has produced numerous billionaires from modest backgrounds - Vallabhbhai Patel built a Rs 17,000 crore diamond empire with only Class 4 education. This wealth creation culture, combined with 279+ IT companies and Gujarat's top-ranked startup ecosystem, positions Surat as a rising tech hub where traditional industry meets AI innovation.
