The Rising Tech Hub
Noida has emerged as a major tech hub with world-class infrastructure and a growing AI ecosystem. Our chapter connects the city's AI talent across sectors.
Noida (New Okhla Industrial Development Authority) was established in 1976, the same year HCL was founded here. The city transformed from an industrial area to an IT hub in the 2000s with STPI support. Paytm's founding in 2010 marked its startup era. Today, it hosts 500+ IT companies, Samsung's world's largest mobile factory, and is building the Jewar International Airport to become NCR's eastern tech gateway.
Amusement park and water park - recreation hub for tech workers and families
India's largest mall in Sector 18, retail and entertainment destination
Major Bollywood production center, media and entertainment hub
Former F1 Grand Prix venue, now hosts motorsport events
Noida has emerged as a formidable tech hub within the Delhi NCR region, combining established IT giants with a thriving startup ecosystem. The city hosts 14,000+ startups and 61 AI companies that have collectively raised $484M, with peak funding of $222M in 2021 alone. The presence of HCL Technologies' headquarters (India's 3rd largest IT company) and Paytm's origin story here underscores its significance.
The corporate technology infrastructure is impressive. Sector 62 houses major IT campuses including TCS, IBM, Tech Mahindra, and Samsung R&D Institute India (SRI-Noida), which has filed 300+ patents and collaborates with IITs on AI, mobile security, and healthcare research. Samsung also operates one of the world's largest smartphone manufacturing plants here, producing 120 million devices annually. Infosys maintains a key delivery center with a Digital Innovation Center in Sector 85.
The academic pipeline is strong. Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT) is NAAC A accredited with placement packages reaching ₹60.71 LPA. Shiv Nadar University holds UGC Institute of Eminence status with average placements at ₹9.81 LPA. Amity University ranks #1 for engineering in Noida. JSSATE STEP, India's pioneering tech incubator since 2000, has graduated 180+ startups focusing on electric mobility, clean-tech, and health-tech.
Government support is substantial. The UP Startup Policy 2020 targets 10,000 startups by 2025. The Startup India initiative and STPI provide infrastructure and funding support. The upcoming Noida International Airport at Jewar will transform regional connectivity. With 50,000+ tech jobs created, affordable living costs (₹20,000-35,000/month budget), and strong Metro connectivity to Delhi, Noida offers an attractive proposition for AI founders seeking NCR access without premium costs.
