AI Ecosystem in Bilaspur

Bilaspur's emergence as a tech hub is one of India's most interesting Tier-3 city transformations. When Chhattisgarh was carved from Madhya Pradesh in 2000, Bilaspur was designated the judicial capital. This gave Bilaspur an institutional anchor that later attracted educational investments.

The establishment of IIT Bhilai in 2016 marked the turning point. The institution moved to its permanent 447-acre campus at Kutelabhata in 2022. Results have been remarkable: NIRF Engineering #73 in 2024, highest placement of Rs 48.92 LPA in Data Science & AI.

Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya provides broad educational foundation. With NIRF #59 and NAAC A+ grade, GGU hosts 32 departments and 25,000 students. The DST i-TBI-GGV incubator nurtures ventures in cleantech, AI/ML, and cybersecurity.
